1. What is Quests of Mythren?

Quests of Mythren is a fantasy adventure game played inside Second Life where players send their adventurer into battle against mythical creatures and complete quests across the world of Mythren.

2. How do I start playing Quests of Mythren?

To begin playing, obtain the Quests of Mythren Game & Gem Wallet HUDs, attach them to your avatar then rezz or attach your adventurer as a HUD, pair adventurer with your game HUD and follow the instructions to begin your first quest.

3. What is the goal of the game?

The goal is to battle creatures, gain experience, collect rewards, and strengthen your adventurer while exploring the fantasy world of Mythren.

4. What kinds of enemies can I fight?

Players and their adventurers may encounter creatures such as trolls, sirens, pixies, beasts, undead monsters, mean little rodents and other magical enemies lurking throughout Mythren.

5. How does combat work?

Combat occurs when your adventurer encounters enemies during quests. Once your adventurer is paired to your Game HUD, you will be able to use a scroll to go on an adventure.  You will start by choosing to defend or attack, or default (neither) then click your dice and the adventure begins.  You will roll your dice until the enemy runs out of HP.  If you win, you get a chance at a special loot crate drop or gear that turns into rift gem energy.  

6. Do characters level up?

Yes. As you complete quests and defeat enemies, your adventurer gains experience and levels up, unlocking more HP, loot drops with stats as well as tougher challenges.

7. Can I customize my adventurer?

Yes. Players can earn or collect new looks for their adventurer through gameplay rewards and events.

8. What rewards can I earn?

Rewards may include:

  • Loot crate items such as equipment or cosmetics
  • Rift Energy
  • Special LE collectibles obtained from events such as companion pets
  • Leaderboard recognition

9. What are Loot crates?

Loot crates are rewards given for completing quests. They are items that can be applied to your champions as gear and some have gear bonuses on them. Some are just really cool looking outfits! Players can keep, trade, or sell on the secondary market.

10. What is the Mythren world?

Mythren is a fantasy realm threatened by monstrous rifts and dark magic, where heroes must rise to protect the land.

11. Can players trade or sell items?

Yes! Many items earned through quests can be traded or sold between players, creating a lively secondary market similar to trading collectible cards. You can even level up your adventurer and make sure his gear is the best then sell him!  Who wouldn’t want to snag a speciality adventurer ready for the biggest of quests?!

12. What are Rifts and Rift Energy?

Rifts are cracks in the magical fabric of Mythren. These unstable rifts allow dangerous creatures and chaotic magic to enter the world. Many quests involve sealing these rifts by defeating the creatures that emerge from them, researching or learning about them.

Rift Energy are sometimes earned through winning quests, once you have 100 energy, you will gain 1 rift gem, it will transfer automatically into a rift gem. Rift gems are used to battle the in-world Rift monsters – an exciting journey!

13. What are Loot crates?

Loot crates are rewards given for completing quests. They are items that can be applied to your champions as gear and some have gear bonuses on them. Some are just really cool looking outfits! Players can keep, trade, or sell on the secondary market.

15. Can I play with friends?

While quests are solo only at the moment, players can share experiences, compare progress, and participate in community events together. Multiplayer is coming soon! Some of our players get together around the fire at the tavern and play while they tell stories. Once official release begins, development on group play will begin and perhaps some one-on-one battle quests between friends!

16. Are there factions in the game?

Yes. Mythren is shaped by several factions with different beliefs about the fissions and the future of the world. Some want to seal the cracks and restore balance, while others believe the changes should be embraced or controlled. Currently, the choosing of factions are for fun, but later we plan on adding in some fun items for factions!

17. What is the leaderboard?

The leaderboard tracks top adventurers based on top player points earned in the game.

18. Are there events in Quests of Mythren?

Yes. The game occasionally features special events, seasonal quests, tournaments, and community gatherings.

19. Do I need experience with RPG games to play?

No. The game is designed to be easy to learn for both new and experienced RPG players.

20. What happens if I lose a battle?

If your adventurer loses, you may need to rest or heal, to better prepare before attempting another quest.

21. How do I heal my adventurer?

Healing may be done through food, potions, resting at camp, or using healing abilities (soon to come) depending on your quest situation.

22. Is Quests of Mythren free to play?

The game is free to play in Second Life, beyond the purchase of a champion, though optional items such as healing potions, food, and other collectibles may be available through in-world purchases.

23. How often are new quests or items released?

New quests, loot, and special events are released regularly to keep the world evolving and give players new challenges and rewards. Each month we will have general drops added, Limited Edition Items, and some specialty Adventurers!

24. Is the story of Mythren ongoing?

Yes! The world of Mythren is constantly evolving. New quests, creatures, lore, and regions are introduced over time as the story unfolds. We have special holidays and celebrations for Mythren only!  As for levels, well we will be constantly updating our loot crate drops so that as you level, you gain new and exciting gear.  The sky is your limit!
