September in Mythren: The Ancient Stag Returns
The air is beginning to change in Mythren.
Summer’s warmth still lingers across the land, but the first signs of the turning season have begun to appear. Leaves rustle where there is no wind. Strange golden tracks have been spotted between the trees. And some travelers swear that, just for a moment, they have seen the silhouette of an enormous stag flickering through the forest before disappearing into the mist.
September has arrived.
And with it comes Caelthorn, Keeper of the Turning Season.
The Ancient Stag
Caelthorn is one of Mythren’s four Ancient Guardian Spirits, beings so closely connected to the living magic of the world that they are considered extensions of Mythren itself.
Throughout most of the year, finding Caelthorn is nearly impossible. But September is different.
As summer begins its slow surrender to autumn, the veil separating the magical and physical worlds grows thin. During these few precious weeks, Caelthorn walks closer to the mortal world.
For generations, adventurers have searched for him during the turning season.
Some seek his wisdom.
Others hope for his blessing upon the coming harvest.
And some simply want the chance to stand before one of Mythren’s ancient spirits and know that the old magic still survives.
But this year, something is different.
